Bibliometrics explains the quantitative relationship between publications – that can either produced by individuals or institutions- about a certain field, within a certain time frame and specific region, and it is the application of mathematical and statistical methodologies to books and other communication channels. Bibliometric plays a significant role in determination and development of science and technology policies. The objective of this workshop, organized with the collaboration of ITU and Elsevier, is to offer an insight into existing bibliometric studies and facilitate a discussion on new metric studies.
