Dr. Zehra Taşkın is an academic staff member of Hacettepe University at the Department of Information Management. Her major research areas are the new methodologies for research performance evaluations, information accessibility, machine learning and social networks analysis. Taşkın’s MA dissertation proposed a machine learning solution to citation index standardization of universities whereas her PhD released a content based citation analysis model with testing the hypothesis that not all citations are in equal value. Taşkın’s research has been published in one of the leading academic journals in information science, Scientometrics and her work has been published in various national and international literature. Taşkın is one of the editors for Turkish Librarianship(Türk Kütüphaneciliği) Journal and also has peer reviewer roles in Scientometrics, IEEE Access and Information World(Bilgi Dünyası) journals. Taşkın has been working for several national and international projects such as; NASA Astrobiology Institute and Tokio Institute of Technology -where she provided consultancy services-, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey(TÜBİTAK) projects and Library for Everyone*LIFE(Herkes için Kütüphane) project funded by Melinda& Bill Gates Foundation. Dr. Taşkın is also the Research Performance Office Coordinator at Hacettepe University.
